Week 1-2 Game design and proposal
In the first week of game design and planning, we completed the design of the game type, theme, gameworld, characters, skills and maps. After much research and discussion we decided to make a 2D pixel-style action roguelike with a simulator system to help players improve their character's attributes. Our game's name is Naturia Guardian. In our deisng processing, we use brainstorming to define our game conception. At first we decided to make a single and multiplayer game, but after a critique in lecture, we realized that multiplayer was not a good representation of the playability of our game. We changed it to a single player game, but one player can switch between three attributes: light, heat, and ice. These characters can perform different combo and effects with different stat skills.
In addition, we have also made plans for the game's skills, UI and maps, and will start making draft design next week. The story of the game is : The earth's plants have been polluted into monsters that will attack humans, and plants can no longer grow by sowing seeds. One day, a giant golden tree wakes up the protagonist and tells the player about the calamity that has occurred in this world and the protagonist's accusations. The golden tree gives the player special abilities, and the player can get special seeds by defeating pollutants, and finally harvest the special fruits to purify the environment by planting.
